Ukraine hopes to sign ACAA agreement in 2022
Ukraine plans to sign the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) by the end of 2022, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
He said this during a meeting of the commission coordinating the implementation of the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU, according to a correspondent of Ukrinform.
“The cooperation between the parties in the framework of the preliminary assessment and the regular review of the implementation of the recommendations provided to Ukraine is significant, which gives hope for the conclusion of the ACAA agreement by the end of the year. end of 2022. We also expect Ukraine to join the EFTA common transit procedure this year,” Shmyhal said.
According to him, the priority for the government remains the work towards the European integration of best practices in five areas, including customs, aviation, digitalisation, energy and industry.
Shmyhal also added that Ukraine is ready to continue its active cooperation with the European Union within the framework of the European Green Deal, a strategic partnership, in the field of critical raw materials and cybersecurity issues. Among the main tasks of Ukraine in the field of transport is the conclusion of an agreement with the EU on the liberalization of international road transport.
“We count on a common long-term vision of energy security with the European Union, as well as the integration of the Ukrainian energy system into the European network of transmission system operators,” he added.
In addition, Shmyhal stressed that the country wants to integrate Ukrainian payment market players into the Single Euro Payments Area.
“The European integration of Ukraine is a civilizational choice. No one doubts it. Every day, in the difficult conditions of Russian aggression, we practically defend and apply the tool that allows us to implement the best European rules and practices,” Shmyhal said.
